Overview
Castor Marine is a satellite service provider and teleport operator providing a suite of connectivity services to shipping-industry customers. With the maritime sector digitizing rapidly and needing to meet a raft of new industry mandates around cybersecurity, Castor Marine set out to find a new security architecture to fully protect the expanded digital attack surface of its customers.
Castor Marine chose Fortinet for all below-deck IT managed services delivered to customers and for the backbone infrastructure linking its four corporate office and teleport locations. Delivered through the Fortinet Security Fabric, the customer solution includes onboard wide area network (WAN) and fleet-wide, software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) capabilities enabled through FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) and FortiExtender cellular gateways. For consistent policy enforcement, Castor Marine’s managed services also include FortiSwitch Ethernet switches and FortiAP wireless access points. The company’s new Fortinet platform approach now provides it with operational efficiency, control, and optimized secure network performance needed to deliver customer value.
